My "brother" lives in that area(Second JSO G street) and his father was mugged, cars broken into and a few minor things. It happens everywhere.

One day all the building CV is doing in the East will fill up. It will be nice to see in my lifetime the west side get a new facelift and grow back into what it was 50+ years ago(a nice place to raise a family and the schools catch up to the East CV schools). I don't mean knock down the old house's but families putting money into renovations.

Like other posters have said in the past , also revitalize the downtown area. It has so much potential to be a good place for business with new planning. I guess time will tell and when we get back to the area it would nice to see things going into that direction. It looks like we won't be back to the area now for about 5 years now and that's up to the Navy of course. Even if we don't get back in that time we would like to invest in a property in the mean time. Hopefully sometime in the next 2 years.

In the mean time you guys keep CV a good place to live.....OK !!
