It's not the just humidity, it's the dew point. The dew point is 66 degrees as I type. Typical summer San Diego is in the mid-50 degrees range. Any dew point above 60 degrees feels sweaty.

The reason for our high dew points is hurricanes coming up from Cabo San Lusas. These hurricanes used to break up in the Baja California. Now they make it up to San Diego.

I hate high dew points. Makes it tough to sleep. The local weather people just blow right over the dew point numbers because I don't think they understand it.

Buy a bedroom air conditioner. It helps.

Average dewpoint in San Diego during summer is low 60's (60-62), which is pretty much the highest in all of CA and probably the entire west coast of the US. From what I remember in SD most weather people usually didn't make a big deal about dewpoints until they reached the upper 60's or higher.

The dew point is 67 degrees in San Diego as I type (confirmed by the Weather Channel). Pretty much the same as Honolulu summer dew points. Thank God I have a portable A/C in my bedroom. Summer was my favorite time in San Diego. However, the past few years have been a *****.

Sure but the temp is also significantly higher in Honolulu too.

This month's home electricity bill was $367 thanks to the humidity/dew point. At least on very hot dry days we can shut the AC off after dark but not on the humid nights.

We live a couple of miles from the ocean. The dew point is currently 65 degrees. It feels like coastal TX. Our portable AC units will run all night. Our typical under $200 electricity/gas bill will be over $500 this month.
