I know that La Jolla is probably one of the more affluent areas of San Diego but I'm just trying to see if that area meets my budget. I am a single male with no kids.

Within a year or so, there's a chance that I could move to SD to work for a CPA firm and La Jolla would be a very convenient commute. With all of my income, I'll bring home roughly about $4k(net income) a month but I wanted to know if I could find a one bedroom over there with that type of money or should i look for roommates. My other question is if La Jolla is out of my price range, then what other areas that would be a "doable" commute to La Jolla or its neighboring neighborhoods? Or would it be advisable for me to get roommates?

Why La Jolla? Traffic is terrible, and it sticks there.

What other communities/areas would you recommend that's close to La Jolla?

Where is the CPA firm that you are going to be working for located?

On 4K a month, you can avoid roommates, unless you are trying to be frugal, which is great!

North PB. It borders southern La Jolla.

Here's an example:

It's an EZ commute if you're working in the Village of La Jolla aka Old La Jolla.

There are a couple of 49er bars in PB. With their current record, maybe just one bar.

That seems nice for PB, but traffic and parking can be awful in PB

That would be awesome to live right by the beach. I can possibly make that concession.

I think the 4K a month is his income, not his rental budget.

PB sucks. Really bad. Remember the bar brawls and traffic is bad...lots of city buses to sit behind in your car.

It is is getting so expensive in PB and forget parking.
