Our son has finished school and is moving from NY to the North park section of San Diego. He is trying to find out what his auto insurance costs will be. Everyone says its expensive but it would be nice to hear what others are actually paying. He has a 2007 Ford Focus and will need full coverage. His driving record is good except for 1 moving violation. Thanks for anybodys help.

I'm really not trying to be rude, but I don't understand why he doesn't call his insurance co. to get a simple quote. People here may have different situations that affect their rate that your son may not have and vice versa.

That's what I was saying.I can ask a friend though but it's always best to call the insurance co.

Depends what insurance co. they have. I was with an insurance co. that only provided in the midwest so I had to start all over. Luckily I've been a member with AAA for awhile and was able to get a decent full coverage plan. I'm only paying like 5 bucks more than I was in Kansas and I have an 08 Nissan. It's pretty nice.

It's better to call the insurance company. I had a vehicle that was hit and totalled. When I decided what I was going to buy, I called my insurance company, told them what I was going to buy, the year ranges, my zip code, and they gave me a quote. All insurance companies have different rates.

If he has an address already, he really needs to call his insurance company. A lot of them go by zip code, and can give an actual quote. How old is your son, what kind of moving violation does he have, and is it paid? His insurance company (if they cover CA), can give him the exact information that he needs.
