I have a great job opportunity in temecula. Please tell me what it is like in Temecula, especially regarding the following:

Safety
Schools
Housing/neighborhoods
Things to do / Activities
Diversity
Food scene
Proximity to other area of interest
Traffic
Wild card if your choice

Thank you.

Temecula is in Riverside County, not in San Diego County. You might want to ask in the Riverside County forum.

True but it is most connected to SD die to proximity ie. Jobs, beaches, recreation. It is like right next to SD County line and like 50 miles from Ricerside. Most of the Riverside forum are people with comnections to LA and OC. Temecula is different.

Lots of people who work in SD live there as it is more affordable. If you think you'll be driving downtown or to the airport a lot, you may want to live a little closer...Escondido perhaps.

Something like 95% of the Temecula/Murrieta threads in the SD Forum tend to be concerned with the commute to San Diego. For better responses on the following, you should consider posting this in the Riverside forum.

Safety
Schools
Housing/neighborhoods
Things to do / Activities
Diversity
Food scene

Diversity, anecdotally I can say Temecula is white majority with Hispanics coming in seconds and perhaps blacks in third. I see very few Pac Islander/Asians/Indians in Temecula as opposed to North City/County SD.

In a way, Temecula is almost like a San Diego suburb, so many commute from there to SD. We nearly moved there, too.

We do have friends who bought there about 11 years ago b/c they couldn’t afford Mira Mesa, their neighborhood of choice.

Husband & wife commute to jobs in SD together...he works in Kearny Mesa, she in LaMesa. They have done this the entire time that they lived there.

Their son is now 10 & has attended Temecula schools since kindergarten. He stays at the Boys & Girls Club until his folks get home &, he plays several sports.

They live near the casino, I think in the Red Hawk area.

They like the schools & neighborhood, the low crime. Their only complaints are the backup on the roads getting into/out of Temecula during commuter time, & the long, traffic-congested commute, but figure it’s worth it for their son.

FWIW, they are Filipino.

I like Temecula and go there many times a year, I live on the coast of North County San Diego. Yes, although Temecula is in Riverside I always think of it as in San Diego, because it is near Fallbrook where my buddies live. There are many very nice ranches east of the freeway 15, before and after the vineyards.

With your budget you have a great selection of real estate, but I would rent a house first and get the feel of the area thru investigations. Does it get toasty in summer.....yep, that's why gawd invented aircon.

I know of one well known actor that lives in Temecula. Ranches, horses, hiking, open spaces, acting school, standup comedy school.......Costco and Trader Joes. What else does on need?
