I’m utterly depressed about the complete lack of rain. It is literally crispy outside it is so dry. My neighbors blithely declare “ Isn’t it great? I love the sun!” GAWD! It’s the frigging driest fall EVER! usually at this time of year we would be enjoying California’s 2nd Spring, when the fall rains bring forth a carpet of green new plant growth on the hills and in the valleys. Yet all of the hills and canyons and our gardens are dusty as can be.

I bet we don’t get over 4 inches this season. We have turned into Phoenix by the sea, except that we get but 1/3 the precipitation that it does.

Help me feel better...

What is bugging me is my allergies (and yes, the dry skin). Anyone else? I have been miserable lately.

Time to get spiritual. Pray and do a 24 hour fast (or fast as long as you can) for rain. Nothing to lose by trying.

What the heck was wrong with the weather today? I biked around Mission Bay on my new fat-tire bike and the weather was gorgeous. Our rainy season doesn't usually start till early-January. Give it some time.

San Diego is really a desert by the sea. If you like rain, you're living in the wrong place. Consider moving to the Pacific Northwest.

A "a carpet of green new plant growth on the hills and in the valleys?" Kauai should be in your future. It rains everyday.

I have no problem with this. No driving to work in pea soup fog. No waiting to ride until the roads are dry around noon.

It will be pouring rain soon enough. We had running water in the local creeks until about August last year it rained so much.
