City Data post from 2017 accurately describe El Cajon as an anti social, awkward outcast area of SD that’s more isolated and ghetto.

The numbers here certainly look good but I have family living there and its a mess. The grocery store closed in part due to homeless residents constantly stealing and running off shoppers. My folks just had a window busted out. Naked people in bushes and people drinking in the driveway. My city has a similar crime rate according to city data and yet I've never experienced or even heard of such things here and when they do happen it makes the news...
