Thumbs up Moved here from Arizona...Good rentals?

Hey all. New here and to SD as well. Two friends and I moved out here on whim, tired of life in Arizona. Love the city, state, weather, everything. We've been staying at the Pacifica downtown in the Gaslamp, but we need something more affordable with more amenities.

We only need a one bedroom (will use an air mattress for the 3rd person) that's under $1200 monthly. We need to stay downtown where we work because we don't have reliable transportation and I don't even want to guess how to use the trolley.

Catch is we don't have the best credit in the world, actually it's not good at all There's an eviction from another roommate and we're a little strapped for cash. No credit/rental history needed would be nice, also a landlord instead of a property management company would be preferable, someone would might be willing to work with us on a deposit. We can cover first month's rent, but it would be cutting it too close if we needed first and last month's rent to move in.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

PS-Also looking to meet new friends and locals down here, we're new! Especially those that are 420 friendly
