Only thing is that a mobile home (unlike land or a house) is not an investment, it depreciates in value. In rural Texas and other areas, it is quite common to buy land and place a mobile home on it for a few years to later on build a home. I don't see that too much around here in San Diego not even here in East County. Perhaps it's more common in more rural areas of San Diego.

In SoCal in the good areas it is an investment and the prices go up.

It's the stigma of "trailer park". Which is silly cause we already have a travel trailer and stay in them all the time. My Grandparents had a pre-manufactured home and it was quite nice.


She says they are campgrounds. I point out, "I don't think those people over there we see every time we stay here are camping."
