I have just seen and heard that this is actually going on the docket for consideration. I am just wondering what you guys have to say, if anything. I have heard "it will just be three democratic states instead of one" and "it's the ruination of California" blah blah blah...anyways, fire away. I don't see how it will make that much of a difference, but that's just me. Will it change SD much? Doubt it, but it remains to be seen.

You get 6 senators instead of just two.

Why not?

Turrible.

Who needs one failing state government when you can have three?

Even if it were to pass the vote, the Dems that control CA will never let it happen because they would never give up CA's 55 electoral votes.

This plan = snowball's chance in hell.

I hate the idea. I grew up in a different type of California and always felt we were one state. This 3 sense of state governments with all their rules, regulations, and departments. There's no need for this accept whatever motivation tim draper has.

It's a way to create another Democratic-run state.

There is no way that San Francisco belongs with northern California.

We should either have "West California" from LA up the coast, around the Bay, to Mendocino or Humboldt; or we should have a state Senate apportioned along geographic lines like the US Senate.

This bill, I'm tempted to vote yes on just for the chaos value. But I'll probably vote no, because if it actually wound up passing and being accepted by the US would screw all of our country with more Democrats in the Senate. No thanks.

San Diego, OC along with the mountain and desert areas as part of the "South California". It certainly wouldn't be a liberal state per se but it would also be more conservative than "California" and "Northern California."
