Word! Yeah it is tropical nasty humid heat. San Diego is no longer a great place to live due to traffic, expensive housing, lack of good paying jobs and so forth. I loved in 2003 before the climate change.

A beautiful 81 degrees in the Gaslamp. Put my yorkie in the bike basket and off we went riding down the Embarcadero and then over to the waterpark where she dipped her paws in the cool water, up a few blocks to Little Italy dog park where she chased around a bigger dog and then back home. Heading out to a North Park bar for some beers on a cool, mist blowing patio with Michael Franks tunes in the background. A perfect Sunday.

I was just in norcal and the weather is way better now than in SD. It cools off at night and in the mornings unlike all day and night humid weather.

I'd rarely seen internal temps in my car of over 120 in FL but it hit that here last week in the sun.

It's not as humid here for sure and this week is better, so on balance SD is slightly better than SFL summer even with these extremes.
Agreed. Never been to Florida, but having spent ten weeks on the Louisiana and Mississippi Coast during the summer, I actually find the heat in the Inland Empire (Temecula, Murrieta, San Bernardino) as well as in Bakersfield and Fresno to be much worse than the Gulf Coast.

People think that dry heat is better than the Gulf Coast mugginess, but the Gulf Coast receives lots of rain during the summer. It'll be 95-100 degrees in the afternoon, but as soon as the rain comes in, it cools off 20 degrees, AND a good breeze on top of that. It actually feels very cool and refreshing. Too bad California is bone dry during the summer. There's ZERO chance that you'll get any relief from rain during a brutal, triple-digit heat wave in the inland parts of California, not to mention increased wildfire risk come autumn, when the hot, dry Santa Ana winds stoke fires in the brush, which is all dead and brown from the rainless summer.

Just wondering, where in North County do you live? If you live in Oceanside, the heat only gets worse as you go inland.

I much prefer dry heat at least it cools off at nights and mornings. Then again I am used to dry heat and not to the humid non stop weather we have suffered in San Diego for the past several years.

Today is the first day in a long time I can chill in my apartment room with just the window open and the fan running.

Good days ahead.

if I recall this is mostly resembles classic SD summer weather with coastal air highs in the high 70s, though it still should be cooler at night and less humidity
