But one thing hasn't changed - San Diego car owners don't know how to drive properly when it rains

"A Caltrans camera caught three separate spin-outs in the same freeway lane within minutes of each other Sunday morning"

This is nuts, thankfully none of the three cars collided with other vehicles.

It's a good reason to stay off the road unless it's necessary to drive somewhere.

Indeed! We would have been walking or grabbing a JUMP Bike down to the game today but, not going to be joining the 27 folks there to watch a baseball game in the drizzle- our seats are completely exposed. Just saw they are rolling up the tarp for a rain delay. Now that doesn’t happen very often in San Diego ever.

I just got back from Grass Valley CA. It's like the Hawaiian jungle up there. It rains everyday and everything is green. The locals are really worried about this summer and fall. The rain will eventually stop and all the green will turn to tinder. The wildfires could be really bad this year.

Another round for next week!!! But, look at the rest of the Country getting absolutely pounded. Wowsers. Baseball sized hail and tornados. I don't miss those one bit. I know if I move back there first thing I'm building is a storm shelter if the place doesn't already have one.

I was blown away, growing up on the plains, the number of houses that didn't have one. We had a storm cellar that we stored canned stuff in but it worked quite well when that storm siren went off.

Well they usually get shifted around with the hard clay or compressed with the cold weather in those areas you get cracks and your basement leaks and you get the awful mildew smell. So they are typically money pits. We had one growing up too and we had canned items too

Some homes had “crawl spaces” designed for storage and a quick shelter. Others have a central design element with a room in the center of the home. I guess you are protect here from flying glass

Toronados are scary not a whole lot that you can do
