Default Markets in SD?

Are there any markets, kind of like the West Side market in Cleveland and Reading Terminal market in Philly, in SD? Basically a place that has many local vendors selling meat, cheese, fruit and other products that hasn't been overly processed. I don't mean the seasonal ones, but the ones that are daily and year round. Thanks for any info!!

Nothing like Reading but there are lots and frequent Farmers Markets in various neighborhoods which feature lots of locally grown food plus flowers.

I'm afraid leighland is right, there isn't really a central market to buy locally grown stuff in one place. Farmer's Markets are you best bet and are scattered thoughout the different areas around the county.

But if you really want the best of the best, you can check out the world famous Chino Farm vegetable/fruit stand in Rancho Santa Fe. Their produce is shipped to the best restaurants all around the country. Their corn is to die for!!

Oh, I should mention that they are proposing to incorporate a public market, a la Quincy Market/Fanueil Hall, in downtown San Diego at an old historic police headquarters building in the near future. Hopefully, it will fullfill our need for a central market.
