Default What is the deal with the morning news?

Seems like every San Diego morning news has the weather and traffic report every 7 minutes. The two things that rarely change in San Diego. We all know where the traffic is and what the weather will be..
There are other issues that could be discussed besides the obvious...

I know! This has always driven me CRAZY. Rain makes our news as a top story here.

Everyone knows our beach forecast is ALWAYS, "overcast in the morning with clearing and sun in the afternoons"...
The other obvious is the reports on all the car crashes due to rain.

People here do NOT know to slow down when it rains so there are always major traffic delays and a million fender-benders. No one seems to care that roads get slick with oil if it hasn't rained even a few days, and go sailing into one another. They always seemed surprised that they can't drive 80 on the freeway in pouring rain!

I find it amusing when the news is filled with some impending "storm" and all we get is a mist. I have to say I was very surprised a few weeks ago when it DID rain heavily and the rain was accompanied by a thunderclap...yes, ONE thunderclap!*lol*

My news station in NJ does the every 7 minutes thing too. I think it is just something they all do.

True.
How bout when 10 news went out into the traffic, called in and told you"Yeah it is slow coming down on the 15,I'm going about 22 MPH."How stupid is that?

I've heard that it's because SD is such a tourist city. It all gos back to maintaining that sanitized, polished, fake look for the tourists. The people around here do it enough themselves, the news just helps them out. That's the SD style, shallow, polished and supericial, what else would you expect?

Of course we wouldn't want the real stories of the everydays shootings and stabbings scaring away the tourists right?

I'm guessing that some people here also think that man never landed on the moon, and that the government allowed 9/11 to happen.
