I've been noticing a new trend w/ new homes -- they're using like a faded wood look for the flooring and I'm not sure that I like it. Its interesting but it sort of reminds me of the faded jeans look, lol. Will it be a fad?

I'm over the granite phase but I'm also picky about what type of quartz countertops are used. I've seen some that are all grey with no pattern but to me it looks too cold. I prefer some sort of pattern, like marble or crystal quartz.
It was OK. Nothing for the memory books. But we go on lots of home tours: Point Loma, La Jolla, Mission Hills etc. Some of the La Jolla homes we've been in on prior events were unforgettable. Not this time. I already forgot the La Jolla home I was in last Saturday. No ocean view of any kind.

Wood-like tile is in. So is concrete. Concrete countertops, floors, bathrooms, decks etc. I like concrete but concrete is porous. Sure it's coated but how long will that coating last. Also solid steel and steel/glass garage doors.

The house on Pine St in Mission Hills was memorable. Memorable for the extreme slope of it's driveway. We shuttled a few people up the slope because it was pretty much unwalkable. Walkability score = 0.

The house on Loring St in PB had the best Mission Bay and ocean views. I think the address was 1937 Loring. It backed up to Kate Sessions park. Too close for me. Kate Sessions park used to have some wild summer parties.

We didn't go to the house in Encinitas. Anything north of the 56 seems like the OC to us.
