Where's all the discussion about this new ruling? Does everyone want to live next door to an Airbnb property?

That was never going to fly anyway. Too far-reaching. I can't believe the council's legal people let them put it through in the first place. It was passed mostly for show, I would think.

That isn't to say that things like AirBnB should be regulated somehow - just not as ridiculously as that.

I've lived next door to one for years. No issues.

Was the entire property an Airbnb or did the owner live onsite?

It was a full-time AirBnB.

I was sorry to see this. I do have a dog in this hunt as I am strongly considering the move to SD, this very much flavors my decision as to whether or not I would buy a house. In an area heavy with Airbnb, nice place in a highly desirable location? At least a lower offer, more likely no offer. Search for something in a different neighborhood with restrictions or maybe go to lux condo with restrictions. Maybe go further along the coast in search of what I want, if it exists at all anymore.

I understand the busine$$ end of this but am afraid this will make it so that either prices based on returns or livability issues will get to the point where these areas will only be attractive to those who want to or have to run a boutique hotel.

My daughter runs two AirB&B units out of her place in the City. But, yes, she lives there on site. And yes, that sure does make the difference. Never any trouble.

That's not quite the question I asked. Did the owner (or a property manager) of this full-time Airbnb live onsite?
