Yes, 4S, Del Sur/Carmel Mountain and Bressi Ranch sound like what you are looking for. As echo42 mentions, if you are ok further inland, then Otay Ranch, Eastlake and Bonita may be good options as well--maybe even Chula Vista....there are some great areas there as well....if you are planning on staying in the house for a dew years, take look at school districts as well (if that helps you in the decision making process)

If there is an area you truly fall in love with, keep your eyes open and stay diligent, prices may turn in your favor! At a minimum, you can negotiate. . Good luck!

Del Sur, Otay Ranch, and Carlsbad all seem to have very good school districts. Some school districts in really nice areas of San Diego appear to be terrible so they ruled themselves out immediately.

I think Chula Vista is a strong contender but I thought there may be certain villages there that had their own stores and restaurants.

I will keep my eyes open in Del Sur and Bressi Ranch. Bressi ranch is way further from the city than I'd like but it seems so nice.

You have some great options, so your patience and thoughtful consideration will come in handy.... you will find what you are looking for!

Bressi and Del Sur and/or 4S Ranch are very similar and offer a lot for families---- I really don't think you can go wrong in any of those areas.... the Bressi Ranch area also has the Alga Norte Park and Swim Complex which was built a few years ago and is a great place to take kids!

City of Carlsbad - Alga Norte Community Park

So excited for you and your family!
