Speaking from experience, i'm 41, female, NO accidents on my record, but 2 speeding tickets and some credit damage and the rates shoot up. Now that it's been a few years, I'm hoping for better rates soon.
Wow I have never seen that before. Is that something they do in Cali? My credit report is great so that would help me. Here in NJ they don't look at that.

Nope - I'm in MN, and use geico - they had the cheapest rates and I still pay around $150 a month!

The one poster was thinking straight when he mentioned Consumer Reports as a good source to consult. I use Mercury Auto Insurance. I file a fair share of claims every year. Around 4 or 5 claims a year, approximately, for the last 5 years or so. Just a bunch of miscellaneous tow truck service type claims. Mercury has been real good on paying me back. Don't know where the good people at Consumer Reports rates Mercury, but I give them high marks. Their rates are low. I have no accidents, no tickets on my record, two cars, both old.

I just got 3 car insurance quotes for a single driver, no accidents etc..
AAA-$1359/ yr
Amica-$1359/yr
Wawanesa-$793/yr

I've had AAA for 25 years but I'm going to switch to wawanesa even though it will bump up my AAA home insurance by $200 if I remove my auto policy.

I've never had to claim anything, but my Mercury rate seems pretty low.

I have Geico. It's seem on the low end, but maybe the service is bad when you need it when filing, or not??

Wawanesa all the way. When I switched from Mercury, I got better coverage with Wawanesa for $60 PER MONTH cheaper!
