Trump did have condo project in Baja California back in 2006. By early 2009, it was a total failure. Many local people lost a lot of money.

The half skeleton of that building is still there, you can see it as you drive down to Ensenada.

This seems to be the reality from the article:

The Trumps say they licensed their name for the project, but were not a developer and had no responsibility to refund buyers' deposits. They say the developers, Irongate Wilshire and an affiliate, P.B. Impulsores, collected and spent all the deposit money, then failed to get a construction loan.

The developers were the ones who spent the money and are responsible. Many famous people license their name, but have nothing to do with the business. Then the 2009 crash cost a lot of developers their businesses on homes they started building, saw lots in my area then, so not uncommon for a failure to occur. Good thing the developers had some money left to pay back. Over $7,000,000.00.

You could have stopped right there. That's pretty much the story of the Trumps business dynasty: "The Trumps say". This claim would be pretty easy to prove. Just show the legal documents.

I’m all for securing the border but you may want to bring it down a notch or two.
