My uncle is visiting from Vietnam and I want to take him to La Jolla for a tandem Paragliding. I heard that at the end they land on Black Beach. Is this true? What are the chances that my uncle will see nude people? I have never been to Black Beach myself.

My uncle is a Catholic Priest.

Here is a list of other sites to consider, I see them out here frequently in Lakeside (Blossom Valley) when going to El Monte Park / El Capitan Lake. They are a site to behold, but I would never do something like this, seems terrifying for me anyway.

The name of the place is Gliderport. You takeoff and land at Gliderport. I've been there many times with out-of-town guests. Some guests fly. Most don't. I have never flown.

The website has a phone number. Call them and tell them your concerns.

Unless you have binos everyone will look like ants. Landing on the beach would suck cause you'd have to get your gear back up the hill.

You don't land on the beach, but there will be nude people on the beach below you while you're gliding.

Just make sure he clips his safety harness onto the glider.

We go to Gliderport frequently as we live nearby. He won't be able to see the people on Black's Beach closely enough to know if they are nude or not.

I agree with making sure the safety harness is clipped to the glider. I saw the scary video on the news yesterday of the guy in Switzerland that was not clipped in!

I see people climbing up Citizens Trail from Blacks Beach to Gliderport all the time. So I guess they do land on the beach if they go too low to make it back to Gliderport airborne. (I'm a hiker, not a flyer.)
