Hello Everyone

I am thinking of relocating to SD somewhere in the summer months. Please advice as I am looking for a job in education. I am well aware of the budget cuts but I'm hoping that I will have more doors opening because I am a Special Education Teacher.

I would be leaving Los Angeles to move to SD and I would also like to know what are some of the school districts that I will have more possibilities to get into. Let me know to what areas of the city would you recommend for renting. I would prefer something that is close to parks or somewhere to go hiking (I'm trying to stay away from traffic).

Anything helpful is well appreciated
Thanks

It's definitely not impossible to get a teaching job, it's just tougher right now that's all. A great place to find jobs with school districts throughout California is Welcome to EDJOIN!

The Poway School District is one of the if not the best district in the county, it would be one that I'd recommend.

With the budget cuts it is really hard to get a job even as a special ed teacher is san diego. My dad is a special ed teacher with a masters degree, who got laid off from a previous job about a year ago. He could not find a job at a public school anywhere in san diego. He finally landed one in a charter school. So you might want to look into some "non-traditional" teaching positions as well, just to up your chances of landing a job.
