It was fricken hot has hell along the coast today. But my favorite thing about the weather was reading today's "forecast" when I got into work.

"UNION-TRIBUNE 7:09 a.m. October 8, 2008
It was hot all around the county yesterday, but El Cajon set a record with a high of 101 degrees, beating its previous record of 99 degrees set in 1991, the National Weather Service said.

Today also will be warm, but forecaster Ted MacKechnie said inland areas shouldn't top the mid-90s, and the coast should be in the upper 70s. Morning wind gusts might reach 15 to 20 mph in the mountains and canyons."

SignOnSanDiego.com > News > Metro -- El Cajon sets heat record; relief expected tomorrow

And I read this around 10am when it was already 80 degrees along the coast. It just amazes me how off the weather service is here. Are other parts of the country this bad with forecasting?

It sure was a hot one today! Check out the impressive temperature range for El Cajon below:

While it's been absolutely clear and beautiful recently, the low humidity has been drying out my sinuses and skin bigtime. That's why I prefer the more humid air that we get between July and early Sept.

And wouldn't you know that it's suppose dip into the bone-chilling 70's over the weekend, before warming up again on Monday? How unfair is that?!?

They're actually predicting a fairly strong Santa Ana event for Monday, which means everyone living on a canyon needs to clear their brush now.

Thought I'd revive this thread and ask if it's hot enough for everyone

Temps as of 3:30pm

I'm guessing it's over 100 degrees in the usual places...Santee, Poway, Esco, Ramona, Lakeside, etc

Yeah, about the only good thing about May weather is my bill from SDG&E.

I don't mind some heat occasionally, but living in a house with several big windows on a wall with south/southwest exposure ain't always so pleasant. My backyard is nearly unbearable.

Hey sav858, thought I'd revive this thread cause I know you like higher dew points and temps, as much as I do!

All I gotta say is that it's about time Summer showed up. Looks like we are are going to have a good week!

Haha, you know me so well b/c I was just thinking about this thread and the weather over the weekend! There were a few points I thought about dragging it up and complaining about the below normal June and start of July but FINALLY summer has arrived. This is my favorite weather on the coast, high 70's/low 80's during the day, 70's at night, and dewpoints in the 60's. Noticed the dewpoint up to 65 last night. The water is great right now too, upper 60's to low 70's at some places. LA Times said Solana Beach's water was at 73 yesterday. It's summatime in SD, enjoy it!
