Default Warning: Message to those who are driving their car into Tijuana

Don't drive a car into TJ that has tinted windows. It is now against the law to drive a vehicle with tinted windows in Tijuana. If you ignore this law your car will be impounded.

I can't say I blame them. Imagine being an officer and pulling over a vehicle with very dark windows. You have no idea who is inside and whether they are about to shoot you. From the police officer's perspective, I think it's a great idea. I think all US states should ban dark tint on the front windows. Cops have a right to see the driver.

Good to know, thanks for posting! Not that I'd drive to TJ anyway, yikes.

What if all your windows (except for your back window, obviously) was rolled down? Any ideas?

Yes, I talked with the Police at the Ocho Street station last week. When driving in Tijuana, rolling down your front windows is OK for a tourist. Do it as you approach the border and while in Tijuana. It is only a ban in Tijuana, Rosarito and south is OK.

No tinted windows in Tijuana, geez!

That's like walking into the prison yard at San Quentin with a loudspeaker and announcing that homosexual sex will no longer be tolerated and if you're caught getting it on with another prisoner you'll go straight to death row. You say something like that and you'll anger a lot of hardened criminals is what I'm saying. We're talking about pit bulls here who have to have a little sausage every once in a while. Ditto for the taking away of tinted windows. The drug cartels and kidnappers love those tinted windows on their SUV's and they're gonna miss driving around in stealth fashion.
