Just got back from a beach walk. Think we'll change our mind on the kayak. Tooooo many people down here and the freeway 8 traffic already backed up to Mission Valley.

Not a native, so I want to get more ideas here, but I visit SD 1-3x's a year. I went this past Wed. to do something, but made a fun day out of it. We...

- went biking around Mission Bay bike path
- strolled Seaport Village
- strolled Westfield UTC & got a smoothie & some cookies
- Leatherneck Aviation Museum would have gone if it was open

That's all we had time to do this time including the main thing I had to do, which was buy an engagement ring.

I have to return in a couple days or so & this time we'll...

- go biking around Seaport Village
- maybe stroll Bazaar Del Mundo
- stroll Fashion Valley Mall

On past trips, we've done this:

Seaworld
SD Zoo
Safari Wild Animal Park
Midway Museum
Gem show
San Diego County Fair at opening time (during June month)
Balboa Park to the Natural History, Aviation, Model Railroad, & Veterans' museums
Hotel Del Coronado, Coronado Plaza, & Coronado Ferry Landing
Bloomingdale's Outlet store
Liberty Public Market
A couple of art supply stores (Artist & Craftsman & Blick's)
Dinner at seafood place Fresh Catch Fresh Market & Grill (now closed)
Carlsbad Premium Outlets
Dinner at the Valley View Casino & Hotel
Got Chinese food a couple of times at Shanghai Saloon/Dumpling Inn

Rent kayak's at Oceanside Harbor. Or a sailboat. Or SUP's. Or jetski's. Or go fishing.

Or rent bikes at the Oceanside Pier (underneath) and cruise the Strand. Then ride to the Harbor, as it's about a quarter mile away.
Or rent SUP's and do yoga onboard at Carlsbad Lagoon. Or, go see the flower fields. Go to the Craftsmenship Museum in Carlsbad.

If you're into racing, there' FOX raceway in Pala. (Roosting is not an option!)

Eat at DZ Aikins. (I'm not Jewish, but I know good food when I eat it.)

Request a "Submarine Tour" at Ballast Point. (You'll have to pre-arrange for this.) Security type stuff.

MiraMar Airshow (you won't be alone, LOL!)

Rent a Hobie Cat on the Big Bay. Or, other water craft.

Take a hot air balloon ride over RSF/Fairbank's Ranch in the evening.

Take a glider ride at Warner Springs

Take a hang gliding ride at Torrey Pines.

Skydive @ Oceanside (or Otay Lakes.)

There, that should get you started...

Want a quiet night? Go to Borrego Springs on a new moon night. Find a location away from the one single light in town. Get a beach chair, sit down and look up. Keep looking. You're gonna see stuff you've likely NEVER seen before. Prepare to be amazed...bring bino's if you want to watch satellites move over you...dead/still/quiet.

The rings I kinda liked were at Pauling Blue Fire Diamond. They had "tension" mounts that were different than the typical, boring prong deal.

Something like this...

How much are they charging for the jet ski rentals ? That looks like fun. I hate when prices aren't listed.....makes me feel I can't afford it .
