here are the biggest differences i noticed after moving from SEA to SAN:

-way more driving to get to one place to another
-hispanic population feels like its 80% (just an observation)
-rent has doubled
-sunshine hrs has tripled
-you'll never see rain again
-people drive faster

80%!?! The percentage of Hispanics in the entire county is only 30.1%

Do you like it down there as apposed to Seattle. Are the benefits worth the price?

My husband is from the PNW (Portland and Seattle). He would never move back there in a million years. He calls it a "depressing place", mostly because of the weather. He's a pretty active person and you can pretty much get out and do something every day of the year here in San Diego.

San Diego Seattle too many reasons, if you really want an honest answer, send me an email or direct message and I'll reply. I don't want to get trashed by all the SD defenders on this site.

I think it's relative to what you can tolerate. I have spent many hours looking on here and the Seattle forum to get a good idea of both cities. In the end, I think I would have to rule out Seattle alone strictly for the weather. The mist and gloom would drive me insane. The cost of living is lower in Seattle of course, but there's always a reason for that.

Moving from Seattle to San Diego is a major shock. I went to High School in San Diego, then lived in Seattle for 10 years. I needed to get away from the gray skies, but I had forgotten how profoundly conservative San Diego is. I always say they're conservative down to their fingernails here.
Having just come from Seattle (the political opposite of San Diego), it's amazing all the things that seem to stand out: People dress, eat, think, vote, play, and parent differently here.

Google the term "Seattle Freeze" it is not about the weather.

You will discover all you need to know.

San Diego wins - nuff said.

If you move to SD, stay out of North County. You will be culture-shocked by all the conservatives. I can't wait to get out of North County. Regret moving there. Only move here if you have a family to raise.
