Cool I need info on Good apartments in San Diego Area

I am moving to San Diego, Ca. I would like to know any good areas to live in. I understand that Mission Valley is a great place to stay, but its kind of expensive. My price range is around 1,000-1,400. I want to move before the of June, but i have no idea what would be a great place to live. I would like to live in Central County of San Diego, but i could go up north towards Poway. Can someone please help me out.

That rent range might be a little too low.Maybe from 1,200-1,650 is a little more understandable for SD rent prices.Try apartmentratings.com.That's why I'm using in my apartment search.

What kind of community are you looking for?

I like Pacific Beach but there is a certain scene and element that others do not like about this place, mainly the part element.

Clairemont is a good central location and relatively affordable, you can get plenty of place in that price range. It's kind of suburban and working class in parts.

UTC is like Mission Valley and can be pricey but very nice and clean overall.

If you want a more urban, diverse vibe then check out areas in and around downtown like Little Italy, East Village, Bankers Hill, Hillcrest, North Park, etc...

Some what is.I just read from 2005-now.Mission Valley might be in that range but look at either the really really older apartments by the "Q".If not a lot of the newer apartments have specials if you do like a 12 mnth lease so the brand new apartments might even be just as cheep as the older apartments.

Thanks JKSouthbay, i've just now started using this! It's very helpful and honest insight to all the apartments in San Diego, from actual tenants. I think if anyone's looking to move here, find an apartment, check this out also. It has definitely helped me with some decisions.

Mission Valley does have loads of new apartment complexes but it is lacking charm. I really love the communities surrounding Balboa Park (Hillcrest, north park, south park, banker's hill, kensington, etc) These areas are more urban and have little sidewalk cafes and shops. You can find reasonable one bedroom apartments here. I live in Hillcrest and it is very centrally located and minutes to downtown. Parking is a problem here though so be sure you've got a small car and good parallel parking skills!
