Default Meeting people in San Diego

I am new to the San Diego area and am looking for some tips on meeting new people. I am interested in sports (volleyball, softball) as well as general group information. I am finding it difficult to get plugged into a pipeline.

Any suggestions?

There are a ton of year round sports leagues in the SD area. Volleyball is pretty big here and I always see tons of people playing on the weekends in Mission Beach. My roommate is always in at least 2-3 softball or baseball leagues year round. Just look for adult sports leagues and you really shouldn't have much trouble meeting people with your interests.

I just moved here a couple months ago myself (and choc lab). One of the first things I did was found a coed softball league. Meetup.com is a great resource for all types of social and athletic events imaginable. You can also go to Craigslist and look in the 'activities' section. I've found several softball leagues/pick up games and a few flag football leagues as well (Secret Squirrel flag football team needs players and they are a nice group of people). I don't play volleyball, but it's obviously popular out here too. The couple groups I've played with typically get together after the games for lunch or barbeques. Aside from that, I haven't found (or attempted) any other ways of meeting people since I've been here. My dog has more friends than I do
