What's your favorite spot for watching Fireworks? (San Diego, Corona: home, middle school)

Where do you like to go to watch the fireworks? I have watched the display at Seaworld, in San Diego Bay, the Santee Town Center, and Escondio. I can't really say any of them are a favorite; they're all pretty much the same with a -TON- of people and things that go boom after dark.

Where is your favorite spot? Perhaps a hill that can see multiple venue's?

To begin with, here's a list of published locations:

California Fireworks Cruise (Maritime Museum of San Diego): 6:30 to 10 p.m. $65; ages 7 and older. Check-in is at 6:15 p.m. (619) 234-9153.

Embarcadero Marina Park South: 7:30 p.m. Fireworks are presented to synchronized classical music. $15 to $75. (619) 235-0804.

Fireworks Cruise by the Bay: 7 p.m. Hornblower Cruises & Events presents this event, which includes food and music. Boarding time starts at 6:30 p.m. $71.40 for ages 4 to 12; $119 for ages 13 and older. (800) 668-4322.
Glorietta Bay (Coronado): 9 p.m. Daylong festivities include a half-marathon, rough-water swim, Art in the Park and live music. The annual Independence Day Parade begins at 10 a.m. (619) 437-8788.
La Jolla Country Club: 8:45 p.m. Fireworks launched from golf course's first fairway.
La Jolla Cove: 9 p.m. Fireworks show can be seen at Scripps Park near Georges at the Cove. (858) 454-1444.
Mira Mesa Recreation Center: 9 p.m. Celebration begins at noon with a parade, followed by food, rides, games and entertainment in Mira Mesa Community Park. (858) 538-8122.
Mira Mesa: 9 p.m. Fireworks launched from the Mira Mesa High School athletic field, 10510 Regan Road.
Mission Bay Yacht Club: 9 p.m. 1251 Carmel Place. Fireworks launched from a barge. (858) 488-0501.
Ocean Beach Pier: 9 p.m. Fireworks launched from the end of the Ocean Beach Pier near Newport Avenue and Abbott Street. (619) 226-8613.
Paradise Point Resort and Spa: 9 p.m. Fireworks follow an All-American Barbecue that starts at 6 p.m. ($72 for adults; $29 for ages 12 and younger). (858) 274-4630.
San Diego Bay: 9 p.m. Fireworks launched from four barges; best viewing at Harbor Island, Shelter Island, Embarcadero Park and Seaport Village. (858) 751-5755.
Scripps Ranch: 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Ice cream social with deejay music. Kids can jump around in a bouncer and get their faces painted by a clown. In conjunction with the Scripps Ranch 4th of July Parade at 10 a.m.
SeaWorld: 9:30 p.m. $47 to $57; parking, $10. Viewing available along Crown Point. (800) 25-SHAMU.
Standley Park: 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 3585 Governor Drive. Pancake breakfast and festival with music, beer garden, kiddie area, run/walk and field games.
Midway: View a rare, original copy of the Declaration of Independence aboard the Midway Museum throughout the day, then again that evening when the museum reopens for its annual “A Celebration of America” event with MAGIC 92.5 at 6 p.m. Tickets are limited; $10 for adults and $5 for children.
Lake Murray: 9 p.m. Lake Murray Community Park, 7001 Murray Park Drive. In conjunction with 10th annual Lake Murray July 4th Music Fest starting at 9 a.m.
Rancho Bernardo: 9 p.m. Fireworks launched from the baseball field of Bernardo Heights Middle School, 12990 Paseo Lucido.
Webb Park: 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Spirit of the Fourth Festival with pancake breakfast and music, food, beer, crafts, games, fireworks, and an Idol competition. Webb Park, 11000 Avena Place.
San Diego County Fair (Del Mar Fairgrounds): A 7:30 p.m. performance by the Navy Band Southwest will be followed by fireworks and a concert by KC & the Sunshine Band. The show is free with fair admission for unreserved seats on the third and fifth levels, and for the standing area in front of the stage. $6 to $12. Parking, $9. (858) 755-1161. Kimball Park (National City): 9 p.m. The National City Community Concert Band will play during the fireworks. Carnival rides, games and food booths will be open at various times from today through Sunday. A parade will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday. (619) 336-4290.

I heard Mt Soledad in La Jolla is an excellent spot to watch multiple fireworks from points north, south, and east. You'll get to see the SeaWorld, Mission Bay, La Jolla, and probably some shows from around the Bay.

Ooh Soledad sounds like a great idea. I wonder if it's less impressive however when you're not close enough to feel the shockwaves.

It used to be Jack Murphy/Qualcomm stadium when the Padres still played there. To me that was the best for the 4th, see a ballgame, get a free beach towel, and then see fireworks after, all for a very reasonable price back then.

Now my favorite place is my back yard, I'd much rather stay home and not fight the crowds. I can see a few different firework shows since I live up on a hill, that's good enough for me.

Some people I know load the family up into the SUV, drive to the Del Mar fair parking lot, pay for parking and then DON'T go into the fair. They just watch the fireworks from the comfort of their car all for the price of parking.

...how many of you see/hear fireworks from your yard every night at 9:50 (right now actually) and don't care if you ever hear/see them again? I thought the nightly display was the coolest thing when I first moved here, then a month later I just got tired of hearing the noise.

To answer the original question: Regardless of where you live, on a boat is the best place to see fireworks. I could never get tired of that.
