Default Relocating with some questions

Hi everyone,

First let me say-if I ask a question that has already been addressed I apologize, I don't have the time to go through and look at everything that has been discussed before.

My family and I are living in Lexington Kentucky. Have been here all our lives. We are moving to San Diego basically for my health. I have Multiple Sclerosis and I get worse every summer here. Through research I found that San Diego is rated the #1 place for those who suffer from MS-don't know why except for the climate maybe? Anyway I know that thousands have relocated all over the country to one place or another due to health reasons so I am nothing special I know. I just want to find the right place, and I know the right place is different for everyone-I thought if maybe I can give some background you all can try to point us in the right direction. We have visited SD twice and both times I was symptom free the entire visit. I am looking to be able to be alive again-to be free of the pain meds and go back to work and be a contributing member of society. Most people think I am crazy-that I have it made with disability and should stay the course-I think they are crazy.

We are in our early forties. My wife is the administrative assistant type-with medical office background. I am currently developing my career in music and film. I am also a private investigator. We have two children but they are pretty much on their own now. I have been told that Poway and Rancho Bernardo are the best places to rent. I am looking at a maximum of about $2200 to pay in monthly rent. I was told that La Jolla is a good choice but I think it would be out of my price range. So how about it? Is there anyone willing to share some opinions and give advice? One more thing-we have pretty boring liives here-not much to do really. We want to embrace the area we chooose-go to the local attractions, parks and beaches but also exhibits and things like that.

I lived in San Diego for 5 years and it is a wonderful place! We rented in Carmel Mountain, Poway, and Rancho Bernardo, and they are all great places. The average price we paid for a 3 bedroom apartment in these areas was $1500. Of all the places we lived, Carmel Mountain was my favorite. Everything you could want is really close and it is just a really nice area. My mother-in-law also suffers from MS, and every summer when she would visit us, she would also be symptom free, so I think you are definitely moving to the right place. I love La Jolla, but it is more expensive. Going to the beach is my favorite thing to do there, but there is also Sea World, the Wild Animal Park, Legoland, Balboa Park, outlet malls, and some of the best food around. Seau's in Mission Valley is one of my favorites and the Prado at Balboa Park. You definitely won't be bored there. Good luck!

I am not sure about your condition and living in La Jolla. It has had the moniker "pneumonia gulch". It is much colder, cloudy at the beaches. Inland can be 10 or more degree warmer and sunnier. Although, maybe that kind of weather is good for ms. I really don't know.
good luck and hope you feel well.

There are many cities that would be great for you. My cousin has MS and lives in Utah, which is fine for him except during the cold winters he has to be careful. San Diego is the place to come if you want to be symptom free AND be able to go outside in the afternoon (I say that because Arizona is that way)
