Default San Diego County's best camping?

Can anyone tell me the best camping sites in San Diego County and the surrounding areas? My wife and I just bought a VW Vanagon and would like to go to a good campground.

Thanks

I really like camping but have not done it in years, and usually when I went we would go to Lake Perris up in Riverside County.

I've heard some good thing about the Carlsbad Beach State Park, but have not camped there myself so I can't say for sure. Hopefully some others can offer suggestions.

There's a couple of Thousand Trails parks that are really nice, Pio Pico (if I remember correctly it's in Ranco San Diego (not sure if you have to be a member or not. My husband is in the rv business and we were always allowed to stay there) and then another out in or near Cuyamacca.
There's lots of camping in the Lagunas, we used to camp there all the time when I was growing up, one of our favorites was Kitchen Creek...all these names sound so foreign to me now,lol...
And there is some beach camping, can't think of the name now, but I think I've heard that was kind of yucky, something like Campland or Campland on the Bay.
Have fun
