Hey there, just wanted to throw a "hi" to you; I also grew up in the Akron area. Hope you have a better day today. Wishing you a successful move next year. Take care.

P.S. - I'm also looking to relocate to SD in a the short-term future. Most of my IRL friends live in SD; a few live in the Sacramento area. My husband and I also looked at Scottsdale, which is beautiful. Seriously though, I don't think I could stand the blazing SUSTAINED heat.

Now that chalk event looks like FUN. We don't have anything like that in Atlanta... the gangsters would graffiti it up before you could take a pic!

i'm living in asheville right now, having moved to and from san diego several times....next time i move there, i hope to stay

sdurbanite, thanks for all the pics, it's been great keeping my head there while stuck here

everyone who worries about the high cost of living in san diego, well, at least it's living, and not just surviving

i have lived in san diego for as cheap as $600 a month rent, but it was living in a travel trailer/motor home type set-up. while only good for small households with no children, it was great for low cost living.

That's a great shot sdurbanite.

I remember Shelter Island, I used to catch those little crabs from leftover fish hooks and lines as a kid.

I moved from San Diego in 2003 to join the U.S. Air Force and serve my country. I've completed serving my country and now I can truly say thanks for those pictures of San Diego, it really made my day to see the place I used to live. I love everything about San Diego, even the Chargers!!! I used to work with them. Hopefully, I can take a trip out to visit again soon and see those historic sites you have posted. Great pics...and I'm going to be Cali dreaming today because of them!

Some pics of Little Italy taken this past weekend. This is definitely the most authentic of downtown San Diego's 8 distinct neighborhoods. With plenty of restaurants, bars, cafes, shops, art galleries to choose from, the sidewalks are pretty lively, especially on weekend nights (think Gaslamp Lite). It's a colorful, dense, loud (planes, trolleys and trains) and trendy area with a growing population so take a look.....

The Heart of LI

You're not a true San Diegan if you've never eaten at the original Filippi's

Cool murals dot the neighborhood

Italian Pride

Solunto's and Mona Lisa have been around since I can remember

Just about every restaurant has sidewalk dining

Best gelato in town

Crazy architecture - this is a single family home

The Waterfront has been around since 1934

Princess Pub & Grille is 100% British owned and operated. The sing-a-longs here are alot of fun

All Mom's should look this good ........sorry, back to the tour......

Shabby Chic fans will love Architectural Salvage, which recently relocated into this great art deco building

Another deco gem waiting to be reborn

Mixture is another great furniture/housewares store

You're not in the suburbs anymore

Another look back

If you squint really, REALLY hard, you may just think you were in NYC

One last mural before I head home

Arrivederci!! Hope you enjoyed the tour!
