OMG, that carne asada looks so good! There's nothing like that anywhere else. They seriously don't know what real carne asada is here in CO, that's for sure. We once had some put on dry ice and brought to us. Yummm!
Thanks also for all the great pics; it brings back some really wonderful memories. Wish we could get back there!

Default Imperial Beach.....Classic Southern California

We often go to Imperial Beach to use the commissary and to also let our daughter (3) play at the beach and/or the Ocean Front playground at Seacoast and Daisy. I decided to walk around town and snap a few photos of the United States most South Western town in America !!!!

Local Real Estate and gift shop all wrapped up into one !!!!

Play ground at Seacoast and Daisy Ave.

Classic California Car....57 Pontiac

Looking South down Seacoast Ave at Palm Ave.

Ye ole Watering Hole......

Imperial Beach Pier

This is the standard bus stop seat in Imperial Beach...surfing seems to rule here !!

Some Eating places near the pier.....there are also few up and down Seacoast Ave.

Life Guard Station near pier.

Crowded beach for a weekday, now remember this is not La Jolla. Imperial just doesn't get that kind of crowds.

These Rocks at the start of the Imperial Beach Pier model the Coronado Islands offshore which are part of Mexico. The sea layer was alittle thick this day and we couldn't see the Islands this day but on a clear day you can see them very well.

Well I didn't have alot of time to shoot everything in the town but I hope I did Imperial Beach some justice....its a fun stop for us from time to time.

I would really love to get together and have you show me the best places to go to take pictures. I am treating myself to a new camera with the going away gift certificate I got from my friends at work. Its for the UTC mall so I guess Sears sells cameras. Anyway my e-mail is dwatts@sfr1.com. Again, thanks for keeping me going all this time. I have been planning this move since 1998.

Gratefuldeb, believe it or not, I had to do a search for your name in order to see if you had typed any posts updating your move to SD. I remember you saying that you and your kids were moving in August (or around there). You might be on your way there right now if you're still driving. I just wanted to wish you all the very, very best! You've waited for so long and now finally your time has come! May all good things come your way as you arrive in SD.

So I just remembered these pictures I had on my MySpace page from back in winter and I thought I share them. I can't remember exactly when these were taken but it was back in winter sometime b/c everything was green and Cedar Falls are running pretty good.

Cedar Falls/Devil's Punchbowl:

My friend jumping into the water. It was probably in the high 60's but after the hike to the falls we felt pretty hot, the water was probably in the 50's.

these were taken on the hike to the falls and back:

These were taken another weekend along the Sunrise Highway, which is pretty cool b/c at spots you have mountainous forests on one side of the highway and desert below on the other side. Such a contrast in a short distance.

look, a real "forest" in San Diego

Ahhhh, sometimes I do miss it. My wife and I used to live at 383 Bonair St., La Jolla (Windansea) when we first got married (1970). Then we moved to Mira Mesa (our beach friends thought we were nuts).

Now we live in Ohio (since 1993) in the country on almost 11 acres.
