Smile Clouds and Rainbows

Was in Pt. Loma on Sunday morning, and saw this huge rainbow.

Also saw some really nice clouds over Mission Bay.

I lived in Phoenix for about 18 yrs and lost my appreciation of the desert. Now that I live in Kansas City I go back to Phoenix to visit family and am just short of being in awe of how beautiful the mountains and desert can be. My question is this, has anyone here lost there appreciation of how beautiful San Diego, the ocean and the surrounding mountains are? Is anyone here or does anyone know of someone that's actually sick of San Diego and wants to leave?

When I lived in socal, the beach and ocean wasn't as mystique and awesome as it used to be.

Like anything else, you get acclimated to weather scenery etc

I'm sick of LA. Hate the suburbs and boring weather, but love the people, beach, mountains, and traffic.

I couldn't be more home sick after viewing the photos. We were in San Diego over Christmas, and despite the rain, it was beautiful.

My husband and I moved to St. Louis, Mo in 2006, and we don't like it here. We can come home in 2 more years.

That's quite a difference...

I'm moving in three weeks to San Diego from Chicago... huge difference too... extreme when talking weather.

Not me. I've been to 48 states and nearly every major city in this country, and still think SD ranks high as far as beauty goes.

The Mercato in Little Italy is getting better all the time and is quickly becoming my favorite

While the Hillcrest Farmers Market takes place in the DMV parking lot, the Mercato takes place in the streets

Who doesn't love Bread & Cie in Hillcrest?

Some interesting popsicle flavors

Bocce ball, anyone?

A harpist for your entertainment

Don't forget to bring your dog

And remember, you're only a few blocks from the bay

A quick jaunt to Dog Beach

Totally San Diego

Heading up the North County Coast

The Lux Art Institute in Encinitas had free admission the day I visited. Great building and setting

On the same day, we checked out the new visitor center at the San Elijo Lagoon sandwiched in between Encinitas and Solana Beach.

Hitting the trail

Homes jockeying for ocean views

Looking back at the visitor center, with some custom homes perched above and behind it

Who says trees in San Diego don't lose their leaves in winter? FYI, it was 75 degrees on this day

Thanks for viewing!

Beautiful views! I have never been to California; not once! Husband has talked about wanting to see San Diego. It looks wonderful. Do they have those benches everywhere, where you can sit and look out over the ocean or whatever? I'd be there all the time!

Question: Why is the Pacific water so BLUE and the Atlantic water is brown? I HATE beaches on the Atlantic coast. I like the Gulf of Mexico; the water there is blue. Pacific looks great. Atlantic - blech!

sdurbanite: Nice pix. You actually captured me (bloom) in one. Not telling which.
luzianne: Same water color for both oceans. Both are great.
