You could always hike to here, but this is from top of Double Peak in San Marcos where the city (I presume) built a new park. Maybe San Elijo Hills developer kicked in, too.
The view of SM.

If you are used to the Gulf, then yes.
If not, you would be fine after a minute or so of getting used to it. Putting your head under with your full body makes it much more tolerable.

Sdurbanite, great pictures, makes one look forward to the trip!
In the first post, in what area were the homes with all of the trees?
These seem like more established areas than the tract home areas we saw on our last visit to SD.

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed them. Those pics are of my neighborhood called Kensington. Most of the homes in the area were built in the 20's and 30's. There are other areas of San Diego with a similar housing stock, ie, Mission Hills, Point Loma, South Park, Morley Field, Burlingame, Bankers Hill, among others.

You live in what looks like a wonderful area.
In South Africa we currently live an renovated home originally dating back to the 40's.
Huge oak trees, chest nut tress on 3/4 acre.
We are planning a move to SD and it appears the only way to get similar near to where we see the kids going to school would be Encinitas or Ranch Santa Fe. If only the prices weren't so high compared to here!! We would be lucky to get $500000 for our home here!!!
