if you are lucky you won't.
they are terrible. they smile a lot and wave but forget your name. they wear loud hawaiian shirts. they drive terrible. ferocious job competitors.
they talk loud in restaurants. and they never come to your state and spend money bek they are already in vacationland.
avoid them if you can.
my uncle in memphis says huck, livin in california is like livin with a beautiful woman that has a headache all the time.

Find a good martial arts class (World Tae Kwon Do Association for instance), get in great shape and meet some outstanding people in the process. These people are likely to develop lasting friendships because of the nature of the martial arts class, respect for belt rankings, and for the art itself.
I met my closest friends this way. Just a suggestion. I did this in the bay area, but it applies to SD as well.

People are people no matter where you are.
Its no different in SD.
