Default Moving to SD from Philly

Hello, I am a single male living in center city phila which is an urban area. I Got an offer in downtown SD for 75,000 and would like to live downtown but it seems expensive. I like the luxury highrises cropping up but is it possible to find a 1 bedroom condo with this salary without starving or do I have to go to the suburbs? Many Thanks

are you looking to buy or rent? You can rent a new 1BR downtown for about 1750, buy for about 325-350k (low-end new building)

Thanks Sassberto,
Initially rent, and then eventually buy for the long term. Your numbers give me a good idea of what the prices are. I saw a condo in BallPark that was very nice and about 300,000. That was a good deal I understand. Thanks again.

Downtown condo market is pretty soft right now, there are definitely some good deals. The ballpark area (east village) is where most of the entry-level stuff is. It used to be completely sketchy but is a lot better these days. A good site for condo listings downtown is http://www.sandiegodowntown.info/downtown.html

he has a blog too and is very knowledgeable.

Downtown San Diego is beautiful and excellent! I think you will love it! Our weather is excellent, high 40's to high 60's in the winter, and the summer's are mid 60's to high 70's. Anymore questions ask?! Take the job guy, it will broaden your horizons.

Peace

Dont buy in downtown .You land up paying 600$ per SQ foot. There are so many areas like delmar/ carmel vally/ La jolla where you will get for lot less
