Yeah, people can think what they want, but to go around filming kids, accusing them of being "gangbangers" and then posting their videos online..thats just slander.

Imagine if your son had gone to the beach, and this strange man sees him, and starts following him around with a camera calling him a criminal, then posting it online so everyone thinks hes a criminal.

A lot of parents have been very upset with this character.

I wasn't defending what this guy is doing at all, he seems a little crazy to begin with. I really don't think its that big of a deal, very few people actually watch his videos. Those two links have less than 100 views each.

And God help you if you wearing a baseball cap backwards.
Perception is reality, alas. Right or wrong, people will judge you.

Not disagreeing that this guy is a complete kook though.

I didnt think you were, and I agreed with the whole perception thing, but I think its a little disturbing that a 6'3 200+ lb guy with some paranoia issues is going around stalking young people with a camera.

I guess its going to take either him or the kids he stalks to get hurt before it becomes a serious issue.
That, or him expanding his harassment to white children, too(not directed at any of you guys).

Default What He Should Do

What this guy should do is go up to the REAL gang punks and video them.
Not harass some sububan kids wearing stupid clothing, but the real gang punks who need to be monitored.

If he is sincere about catching criminals in the act, he ought to target the actual law-breakers and not some innocent kids.

He's not an armed policeman and the real gang punks might attack him if he got in their face.

If you read the article you can see he had a drug problem and was institutionalized for some issues in the past. He does not appear to be well-regarded by law enforcement in O'side either.

Yeah, I acknowledged that when I said he's been charged with meth posession, and I suggested that he is showing signs of paranoia that are associated with meth abuse(I'm not exaggerating...I've read his comments and seen many of his videos..guys off.).

Being ignored by Oceanside PD is one thing, but my point is, how comfortable would you feel if a large strange man, with a past of drug abuse showing signs of paranoia and possibly not in touch with reality, was following your kid around on the beach with a camera trying to provoke him/her? Then posting the videos of your kid on the internet? Its really creepy and unsettling.

I wouldn't feel comfortable if I had kids that were a minority, and fell into this guy's path.

He's approaching what he thinks are "gangbangers" and "tough guys". I wonder what he's carrying for protection. I wonder how much it takes a paranoid guy like that to feel he is in danger, and react in self defense.

It seems like its trouble waiting to happen.

I'm surprised people in San Diego are so indifferent.

I'm sure it'd be a bigger deal if he had been harassing white children and teens in La Jolla or Mission Beach.

But since they are minority kids wearing baggy clothing, theyre probably gangbangers anyway, and if they aren't, theyre asking for harassment from paranoid adults with a police record and a camera because of their clothing.

It's unfortunate that the concerned parents in Oceanside can't really do anything about this guy.

I was just a little shocked to read about him, and that he is allowed to do this.
