Default San Diego/OC/LA trip

All,
We are visiting San Diego, OC and LA over a 6 day vacation during thanksgiving. We are a family of 3 (Kid 4 year old). Here is what we came up with so far..

Day 1: Seaworld
Day 2: Scenic Sight Seeing/Beach/Relax - Please suggest places around
San Diego.
Day 3: Lego Land/Zoo? Which one is better? Please suggest.
Day 4: Irvine - want to check it out since this could be our future place of
employment few years down the road. I need your biggest
help here. Any other places that you can think of.
Day 5: Disneyland
Day 6: Beverly Hills and drive back to San Diego to fly out later in the
evening.

Thank you very much,
AJ

When you're in San Diego, a day in La Jolla would be really nice. Downtown is also lots of fun with a great shopping area called the Gaslamp Quarter. Lots to eat and look at there as well.

The city of Irvine does not have much to offer for tourists, but nearby Newport and Laguna Beach are nice areas.

When you are in LA, Beverly Hills is ok, but your kid will get bored fast. Try the Grove/Farmer's Market, Hollywood, and Santa Monica if you have enough time.

Hi Blah51,

Allow me to answer the question - Zoo or Legoland?

Since you have a very young child, Legoland fits the bill perfectly since the place is designed for little kids. However, the prices are very steep for everyone.

The Zoo is a beautiful place to go with a young one as well, however, it can be a very long day (like Sea World) because of all the walking. The hand's on activity for your little one can be found at the Children's Zoo where everything is at young peoples' height. This is a more affordable attraction than Legoland.

Once you have the facts, I would ask your child for their input and go from there.

For more information on fun things to do in San Diego, places to go and eat, please join our free online travel guide to San Diego San Diego Travel Tips | San Diego Local Travel Guide | Visitor Information. We have a family-friendly section as well.

Cheers,
Alex
