I'd say the heart of it is Orange Avenue between Isabella Avenue and Loma Avenue, right where the traffic circle is and a few blocks north/wext of the Hotel Del. It's nice, for sure, if you're a millionaire!!

Hi,
I live in Coronado and it is a misconception that everyone that lives here is rich and that it costs more to live here.
The Village includes the main part of Coronado from San Diego Bay to the Coronado Beach East to West and from North Island Naval Air Station on the north to just past the Hotel Del Coronado to the south.
This designation separates The Village from the Coronado Shores just south of the Hotel Del Coronado and the Coronado Cays a few miles down the Silver Strand.
Hope that clears it up for you!

Well, considering that the average price per sq. ft for a house in Coronado ranges between $800 to over $3,000, I'd say that prices out alot of people.

It's not so much that it costs MORE to live here, as that you get less for your money.

Doesn't Coronado have one of the highest average household incomes in the county? I thought it ranked pretty high on the list, after the usual suspects (Rancho Santa Fe, etc.)

In the county I would say it might be but La Jolla, Del Mar, even places like Carlsbad seem to have more people who actually work. A lot of Coronado seems like a retired and especially retired high-ranking Navy.
Nationally It doesn't rank as highly as it could / should because of so many retirees. RSF is usually in the top 2 but San Diego as a region does not rank highly (I believe also due to the retiree factor). Most of the CA cities are in the Bay Area due to the tech economy there. Note how many NY, NJ, CT cities are on that list too.

Why would anyone complain about Coronado... It is an amazing place.
