Lightbulb Where are the best places for college age people to live in or around SD?

Aloha from Hawaii,

I will be making the move to the San Diego area from Hawaii. I would really appreciate any info or tips on finding a place to live in the the more trendy/younger/college areas. Preferably reasonably priced, in a decent area, House or apartment, & with or without roommates. I have lived in several large cities like Berlin in Germany, The Twin Cities in Minnesota, & Honolulu, HI all of these places had their ups and downs. I have been to San Diego 2 times before and stayed in the Pacific Beach and Ocean Beach areas. I am 25 yrs old, Ex-Army, & thinking of heading back to school or working full time on a base. I planned to arrive either later this month or in Jan. Any help with websites or resources would be great

But in that area would you say you would end up paying more since its so near the beach or about the same as any other area?

Pacific Beach or Ocean Beach for sure. What is your budget? You can find cheaper places in both areas, the farther east in PB you go the cheaper it gets.

if you are going back to school, you most likley want to live near that one, probably UCSD or USD. Search rent.com or for the college area, la jolla, or university city. PB is great if you want to party.
