I am moving to newport beach in about 3 weeks from NJ! I am very excited but have come to a realization that playing golf in OC sort of stinks unless you make 150k a year or more. most of the public courses are over 100.00 a round weekedays for A GOOD course, and maybe 60-70 for a crappy course. does anyone know of specific spots or promos to get on for a 26 yr old in oc. i dont mind drivin to san diego for better golf but i would also like to be able to leave work early on a friday and play 18 holes in my backyard! let me know if you know specific places, rates, promos, etc. i see some oc trail card, is that any good? what places in sd are good? i heard they had a torrey pines discount for residents of sd, is that still in effect? thanks.

San Diego has a tremendous variety of golf courses that will fit your budget.

Visit Go Golf San Diego | Home for more information on San Diego Golf Courses.

Top three golf courses would be:

1. Torrey Pines - Torrey Pines Golf Course
2. Steele Canyon - Steele Canyon Country Club

Yeah, that pretty much sums it up... plus if you're military or have the connection, there's Admiral Baker which I don't know anything about because I'm not. There are plenty of courses around for everyone, but even more of the resort-style when you're ready to splurge, especially in RB, PQ, and out at the Indian Casinos. Nothing beats playing Torrey Pines though... except maybe Spyglass haha, but that puts Torrey Pines at a perfectly honorable #2!
