Default Escondido Apartments

I will be moving to Escondido in the next few months and I am wondering about the areas near some apartments I have been looking at. 1315 E. Grand Ave is Fountain Estates, and 2240 Bear Valley Parkway is Wood lake apartments. If anyone has any information on these areas and possibly the apartments themselves I would appreciate it. Thanks!

As long as you don't plan to send your kids to local public schools, you should be okay. Fluent Spanish will come useful if you want to converse with your neighbors. Don't drive an expensive car and always lock your doors.

All dense areas have problems with break-ins and auto theft. There are large numbers of these incidents in most unexpected areas. For example, there are more reported vehicle thefts and vehicle break-ins per square mile in Pacific Beach or UTC than in downtown Escondido. The difference is, residents of UTC are, on average, much wealthier than residents of downtown Escondido. Your entry-level BMW or Lexus may not seem like much in UTC, but it will stand out parked in the apartment parking lot on Bear Valley Parkway.

NO, We go there every summer and have never had any problems. It also depends on the neighborhood you live in, but that goes for any town.

[SIZE=3]Wow I hope this post has not come too late, I grew up right there on Oak Hill Drive. It has been 10 years since I graduated high school but I can tell you when I was in Junior high and in my “bad girl days” we use to go on grand and get all our drugs by just asking people that we saw if they could hook us up. It was always in the apartments from Woodlake to Eagles Point (right next door to Fountain Estates) on grand and I don’t think we ever had to ask more then one person (we were always successful in finding the drugs we were looking for). Then many times we would go to the Fountain Estates where a friend of mine lived and party it up. Now my grandma still lives in the house I grew up in and I personally would never live in that area due to the fact that it has gotten considerably worse since I was in School. My brother just graduated from the high school (Orange Glen) there and he also feels that the area is really getting bad. A lot of non English speaking people and gang problems and wana-be gang people on that side of town. Maybe I am wrong and those apartments happen to be wonderful now and are much better then they use to be and the looks of the area are just deceiving but I doubt it. Just be very carful before you pick your apartment. If you have kids I would send them to private school, home school them or even better move somewhere else. Do you have to move to Escondido?
