Why can't all races live in peace among each other? When will the day come that we all learn to accept one another without fear because of color, and learn to trust each other regardless of our skin color? If we all learned to overcome our fear of each other we could live in a more peaceful time, live among each other in peace and what you have seen in Santee or other mostly white areas would become a thing of the past. It's up to us all to change the world, why not start now? The next time a person stares you down why not walk up to them and smile and put your hand out and say hello, and I bet you get a whole different reaction from that person that you never thought you would get. Trust me, if we all do this as a test, write back here and let me know how it goes. Only the color of our skin make us different, we all have the same blood running through our veins. Some of my best friends are of many different races, it's what inside that counts. You can change a whole city attitude by doing this. Believe!!

nice thoughts !

but i belive most of the predjidice comes from the poverty and crime that some minorities commit

we ai'nt all like that, but whitey sees it that way.

more prosperity and less crime are good starters to harmony.

Blakaz speaks the truth, especially how older whites see minorities as nothing but criminals.

This is unfair and wrong. It should be more of a class issue, then the race as a whole. Lower income area's have higher rates of crime, it's just a fact. If poor minorities in society would find the way to improve themselves education wise, and move up the ladder, then I believe that some of the stereotypes that the majority Mexicans and Blacks are no good, can be reversed.

It is true mostly majority white neighborhoods are safe, and that's why whites like it to remain that way, so when a Hispanic family moves next door, it's the end the world in there eyes. I'm not saying all neighborhoods are like this, but it's hard to deny it.

Also the difference in culture is what pisses off conservative whitey, Mexicans here are not as American like real Americans want us to be, so this can lead to racial tensions.

La Mesa is generally cool with everybody, people of different races shouldn't have a problem living there. The people in La Mesa are more educated and less "backwards" than El Cajoners or the Lakersiders.

You guys are crazy. If you think La Mesa sucks your not going to find any safe place. My family has been there since the 50's. Santee is not racist. I grew up there and there were black kids and they had no problems. There are more now then when I went through. And El Cajon is not bad. Have you ever been to Singing Hills? But when you do find a place let me know where. It must be a secret since there is nothing that is perfect.
