Default Rancho Bernardo (4s ranch) to Claremont Mesa traffic

My husband and I are considering on purchasing a home in the 4s ranch community, but wanted to know what the commute was like from the RB area to Claremont Mesa (around the 805) on the I-15. We hear that it can be bad but wanted to know if anyone does this commute (or similar) and give us some average commute times. Thanks!

I don't do that commute so I don't have times to offer. I did want to point out that 4S Ranch is not RB, and commute times may be somewhat different between those two.

4S ranch does have a RB zip code. Most 4S ranch commuters get on 15 at Camino Del Norte (to go south) or Bernardo Center Drive (in RB). You have those options in case one is busier.

My husband did a similar commute from 4S to Kearny Mesa. It wasn't bad. You also have the option of using the HOV lanes when traffic is bad. 20-30 minutes in the morning.

The commute home is worse, 45 minutes at times like Sassberto said. Depends on things like if school is out, etc. If you leave early or later, you can avoid some of the traffic.

Feel free to DM me if you want any info on 4S. It's a great place to live.

I've always been to work real early but lately running a bit later. I was shocked at the amount of traffic going N at 620 am on the 805 and 15.

2 weeks ago I got to work (10 min) and forgot my laptop. The return route from downtown took 40 minutes.
