I'm originally from the East Coast and have been living in the Bay Area for about 5 months now. With the tough job market here, despite graduating from a top university, I'm still only working part-time. I've been applying for jobs and jobs here but it seems like its just a black hole and have been seriously contemplating a move to SD (applying to jobs, looking for housing etc). I know the overall job market in the US is tough now, but basically I am willing to take any entry-level position at this point.

I'm paying $975 for a one room here so I figure I can get something cheaper in SD. Any suggestions about finding work/the amount of entry-level or early level positions open now?

thanks

What field are you in?

Side note-

Where from the east coast did you move from?

I'm in FL looking to move to SD as well and am wondering about your move and how you got all your stuff/vehicles there.

Right now in this economy, I am looking for basically any field but my degree was in Sociology/Japanese.

I'm from New England and moved out here with just two suitcases and started accumulating stuff from there.
