I liked Sushi OTA, but more than one person has directed me to Sushi Edo in UTC. I think I'll check them out sometime this week.

I don't know if I can pick a "best". Ono is too much of a scene. Nami on 5th and University is good. The place on 30th and Upas was ok. Edo was very good. Have never been to Ota but most people claim it to be the best. We like Toshi which is in the SDSU area. Sushi Itto is bad.

^^Gee, Sassberto, are you following me or am i following you? lol The places you mentioned above are on my sushi circuit, as well. Ebisu on 6th Ave in Hillcrest is pretty good, too. Definitely right about Ono being such a scene at times.

When my brother, who lives in OC and works for a Japanese company, brings his bosses to SD, they always go to Tajima and Sushi Ota. He said they are known to Japanese living in Japan and has to do with the chefs. FYI, a former chef from Sushi Ota opened a new sushi bar in Bankers Hill called Hane, that is suppose to be Ota's twin. How cool is that?

That said, SD is fortunate to have so many sushi joints to choose from!

From my experience with Sushi Ota, unless you're willing to shell out millions the waitresses want nothing to do with you.

I like my food COOKED!

Just the thought of it wiggling as it slides down my throat ...

I guess I would never make a good Klingon.

It doesn't wiggle! HAHA I know what you mean though. That's how I felt my first time before I tried it but I decided to man up! Now I love it!
