Default Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve, worth a visit?

Is it worth a visit to the Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve, worth a visit? What in particular should one do/see there? What entrance is closest to the waterfall-like waterfall?

The entrance at Black Mountain Rd is only 2.9 miles to the water fall if you use the trail on the South Side of the Creek. If you're lucky enough to go when there is an event going on at the historic ranch house (or even if the Ranch House is just open) then I would recommend stopping by for a quick look just to see some of the period items and get to know how people in San Diego lived in the 19th century. The spring house and the old irrigation pond and flume system (now dry and in pieces) are kind of interesting from an engineering stand point as they were built in the 1850's and used to irrigate the fields west of the farm house.
