Let me just say this once, ROLANDO IS NOT A BLACK NEIGHBORHOOD

Encanto
Skyline
Emerald hills
Parts of Spring Valley
Parts of Lemon Grove
City Heights(East San Diego)
Parts of Paradise Hills
North Park
Parts of National City

All in a nut shell you'll find most Blacks living inside the parameters of East of I-5, North of 54, west of 125 and south of I-8. Try looking at this square parameter on Yahoo/Google maps, from there you should find several middle class and upper-middle class neighborhoods mixed in with lower class areas. This is my personal opinion (30+ years born and raised in San Diego), as an African American.

Your best shot would be Southeast San Diego if your looking for a large amount of african americans in your nieghborhood, but beware it's not reconmended. Another place would be spring valley (even though it's not even a valley more of a big hill with lot's of houses sitting on top of it) and that area is pretty nice to, if you don't mind being isolated from the rest of the san diego metro, imo.

i'm trying to find a suburb (s) with a decent amount of Arfican-Americans

thanx !

East County (which is Lemon Grove, La Mesa, El Cajon Santee, Spring Valley, Lakeside, Alpine, etc. ) Is actually known for being a more white area of San Diego.

Chula Vista and National City have alot of Hispanics, yet in some areas it is mixed.

The City of San Diego neighborhoods that are mainly african-american are

City Heights, Lincoln Park, Emerald Hills, Skyline Hills... but these areas are not too friendly
