It will not matter in the long run provided she stays focused with her eye on the ball. She has to keep in mind her goal is to transfer as soon as she can but a lot of people at JCs are not all that dedicated, they just take classes aimlessly, and more then half of them end up dropping any given class mainly because they didn't bother to do the work. If she speaks with her councilor, follows IGETC to the letter, and gets at least a 3.0 then she'll do just fine. She could easily transfer to either UCSD or SDSU in two years.

As an added bonus two years is how long it takes a student to get residency so when she does transfer she (meaning you ) will pay much, much less then $35k per year.

And rightly so. Given how much money a state's tax payers pump into public universities their kids should get a discount.

I think he meant the entire cost of a year in college or maybe he was referring to OUS tuition for the entire 4 years, I don't think he meant for one year...At least I hope he didn't..OP, come back and clarify, please..

Yes, out of state can be high, but I don't think that high for 1 year..

Yea, that's what I was asking. $35,000 over four years wouldn't be outrageous - - for one year, you're talking about the cost to go to a private school. SDSU is a good school, but there are other better universities that one could spend $35,000 on.

I agree, now OP come back and tell us what you meant by the $35,000?
