KETTLE POT-Ok, here goes. I'll use round numbers for ease of computation.

Lets say La Jolla has a population of 30,000, and Barrio Logan has a population of 3,000.

OUTLAW: THERE ARE ONLY 6 OR 7OO (SEVEN HUNDRED) PEOPLE LIVING THERE. AND EVEN IF YOU ROUND IT WOULD ONLY BE 1,000 PEOPLE! ONE IS A BIG CITY AND ONE IS A SMALL NEIGHBORHOOD.

KETTLE POT:Now back to the actual numbers for Barrio Logan and La Jolla, they only had similar rates of property crime. The rate of violent crime in Barrio Logan was much higher than in La Jolla. That I failed to say so was a slip up on my part.

OUTLAW: YEA YOU DID MESS UP! But anyway subject is over!

Just so everyone knows. OUTLAW edited out 3/4ths of my Private Messge when re-posting it to the public board. I provided a more thorough discussion of the mathematics involved in computing crime ratios than is shown. That OL still can't see why the difference in population sizes of La Jolla and Logan doesn't matter when comparing crime ratios as opposed to comparing raw numbers shows however, that my explanation wasn't effective. Oh well, I gave it a try.

By the way, the population of Barrio Logan used by the SDPD is about 7300.
